Academic Explanation: Beyond Walls – Hastinapur Excursion for JPIS students

On 26th April 2025, the Humanities students of Grades XI and XII from JP International School had the opportunity to explore a significant historical site. Staying true to its belief that learning beyond walls helps in shaping well-rounded personalities, JPIS organized an excursion to the archaeological site of Hastinapur for its senior students.

The school Principal, Ms. Ruby Chandel, takes a keen interest in organizing such educational trips where students can gain authentic experiences and recognize the rich heritage of our country. The students and teachers set out for the destination early in the morning, full of excitement and curiosity.

At Hastinapur, the learners were truly mesmerized by the artifacts linked to the Pandavas and Kauravas, gaining a hands-on experience of ancient history. The trip allowed students to uncover new dimensions of our cultural and historical legacy. Through JPIS’s learning by doing approach, the experience became even more insightful. Students were able to correlate their discoveries with historical texts, thereby deepening their understanding.

This experiential learning fostered curiosity, critical thinking, and active engagement among the students. The visit was a clear reflection of the school’s commitment to practical and holistic education, making history tangible and memorable.

The excursion proved to be a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and real-world exposure. Students returned with enriched knowledge, broader perspectives, and a renewed appreciation for their heritage.
