A heritage walk to Humanyun’s Tomb

A great beginning can give a good impact to a learning and yes! proudly to say that JPIS Greater Noida gave a remarkable start of a new session with the very first celebration of an academic year of Social Science week with the theme of “Discover and experience diversity” Cultural Kaleidoscope (Heritage week).

To commemorate World Heritage Day on 18th of April Students of grade 9 got an opportunity to visit Humayun’s Tomb, New Delhi.

JPIS believes in extending learning through field trips to give a modern touch to teaching. While witnessing the grand dynastic mausoleum children came to know about architectural style, that Mughal dynasty unified most of the sub continent.

The integrity and authenticity of Humayun’s Tomb lies in the mausoleum, garden and surrounding structure. As an UNESCO World Heritage site it not only attracts but also represents the earliest extant specimen of the Mughal scheme of garden tomb, with channels.

Students filled with excitement and joy certified every moment of Maqbaera e Humayun. This visit not only made them aware about the importance of heritage sites but also gave them the feeling of a proud Indian.

As Marcus Garvey has truly quoted, “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots."
