Horticulture/Plant Nursey visit

Trees provide shade, and are beautiful to look at. Plants nourish life on the Earth in many ways. They are a precious gift to us by nature as they act as natural dustbins to the harmful gases in the environment and keep us healthy by helping us block out pollution and keep carbon footprint low.
 
Giving emphasis to SDG goal-15 LIFE ON LAND, JP International School arranged an educational trip to nearby nurseries. Students of grade 6th had an opportunity to visit Neha and Jona's plant nurseries in Greater Noida on 29th November, 2023. The students got to see fruit bearing plants like banana, mango, guava etc. Vegetable plants like potato, cucumber, spinach, tomato, bulbous and some other plants which are raised by seedlings. Flowering plants like guldaudi, marigold, hibiscus, lotus variegated plants, button plant, dog flower, lily, pine and medicinal plants like tulsi, allover, lavender, fenugreek, and peppermint were also shown.
 
The excursion helped the students to relate to the lessons which will not only boost their interest in botany but also encourage them to contribute towards our environment.
 
The students even saw how plants are given fertilizer. It was exciting for the new generation to see a wide range of flowers.
 
The students acquired knowledge on different parts of plants and their importance in our daily life. They could practically see and feel the texture of the plants as well. The students became versed with different parts of plants and their benefits as well. They cooperated with each other while acquainting the plants and its parts. The children were very enthusiastic to share their opinions and information they had on plants. They have exhibited the attitude of “enthusiasm” and “cooperation” and hence, the teacher and the students returned with a remarkable memory and a lot more information.
