Educational Visit to Kiran Nadar Museum of Art – ‘Purvaee’ Exhibition
Date: 25th April 2025 (Friday)
Classes: IX to XII Fine Arts Students
On 25th April 2025, students of Classes IX to XII Fine Arts from JP International School visited the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Noida, for an enriching experience centered around the exhibition ‘Purvaee – Evoking Pedagogic Lineages’. The show presented over 200 artworks, exploring the legacy of India’s pioneering art educators and their influence on successive generations.
Students were captivated by Nandalal Bose’s delicate watercolor works using the wash technique and paper cuttings inspired by nature. Pushpamala N.’s staged photograph of Sita Haran offered a dramatic visual narrative, while KG Subramanyan’s cubist-style abstract works, using oil, pastel, and watercolor, stirred personal interpretation and emotion. Vasudevan Akkitham’s 360-frame series on lockdown life portrayed ordinary moments with quiet power. Krishna Reddy’s print-viscosity technique wowed students with layered textures, and K.P. Krishnakumar’s ink drawings stood out for their expressive lines and depth. A. Ramachandran’s sculptures reflecting femininity and mythology left a lasting impact, especially the moving tribute to mothers from the Mahabharata.
After the gallery tour, students enjoyed two hands-on workshops, a lively Origami workshop led by artist Amandeep Kaur and her team from the Japan Foundation, where students folded colorful paper into creative shapes, thoroughly enjoying the blend of craft and culture.
The visit sparked imagination, enhanced visual literacy, and deepened appreciation for Indian and global art traditions.
